How to Offer an Appointment

This Scheduling Coordinator resource document describes how to offer an appointment to a patient that fits their schedule, but ultimately fills the needs of the office schedule.

How to Offer an Appointment

Offering appointments to patients – don’t give them too many options. Patients like it when you give them options to select from and not just make them guess like they are trying to win a prize. Also we want patients to appoint at times that work best for our schedule so if you just offer them anytime, they won’t work into the schedule in a way that works best for the office.

Best Way to Offer an Appointment Time:

Ask: “Is there a day or time of day that works best for you?” or something that helps you narrow down what appointment times you are going to offer that patient.
