Why It’s Important to Make Time to Train: How to Use Your Implementation Manual

Do you ever wish there was a manual for life? You know detailed instructions outlining how to manage the big things in your life – going to school, getting a job, finding the right person, raising kids. As you know, life does not come with a manual, but your Front Office Rocks training program does.

This is the second part of our five-part series: Why It’s Important to Make Time to Train.

Here, we will break down our Implementation Manual and show you how to use it and why it is an important step to launching the program in your office.

1. Where is the Implementation Manual?

You’ll get a copy as soon as you become a subscriber.

You can visit the website at any time and log into your account.

When you’re on the site, simply select Resources, then Getting Started Documents and the Implementation Manual is ready to launch.

2. How do I use it to plan training?

Begin by recognizing areas that need to be addressed by asking yourself each of the following questions:

  • What benefits do I expect to see from each module?
  • Which role(s) will benefit the most from training?
  • What can be learned while completing a series?

Through these questions, you can identify training opportunities for each employee to pursue. But, don’t stop with assigning job specific training to your front office.

Why limit the receptionist to only training within the receptionist module or the scheduler in the scheduling module?

The breadth and scope of the video training library lends itself to both continue and cross-training opportunities.

Begin by assigning the scheduler the scheduling module, but add key components of customer service such as Telephone Skills & Etiquette or New Patient Calls.

The possibilities are endless as you navigate through the modules and identify areas that the entire staff can benefit from. The goal is one team performing as such with consistency and customer service always in mind.

Continue this process with each employee in your dental front office.

The Implementation Manual not only provides a detailed overview of each category and a brief description of the training module and video, but it provides an organizational chart to show you the exact order we recommend that videos are watched.

3. Why is it important to use it?

You have decided that your dental front office could benefit from training. You have subscribed to our program and invested in your office’s future success. Now, you feel overwhelmed and really don’t know where to begin. Don’t worry because we have done the work for you.

We have developed a way to help you look for areas to apply training, assign staff specific training modules, track their progress and develop your team further by providing Resources at the end of each section. There, you will find policies and documents associated with that training module, as well as cross-training video suggestions for each role in your office.

Why is it important to use the Implementation Manual? Because we have drawn you a road map to success!
